Felt DA Frame Failure
Luckily this fracture occurred on a slow part of a ride, about 200m from a climb. If it had occurred going downhill or with a car close behind, I would not be typing this page. Nevertheless, it was painful and a long, slow walk back in cleats with a bike on my shoulder was not appreciated.

The fracture occurred whilst I was in fourth from top gear. Again, luckily, the accident occurred outside a school where bike proficiency lessons were taking place. the instructor saw the accident and rushed to my aid - they are a witness as to which gear the machine was in.

Felt, of course, or their insurers, were at pains to deny that it was their fault. first they tried to claim I'd used the bike on a turbo trainer. Wrong. Then they claimed I had used different wheels on the bike from the Zipp wheels it came with. Duh, so you can't change wheels on a bike? Perhaps they should make this more obvious to potential buyers. And latterly they claim I over-shifted the gears (see witness above). Gentlemen, even if the bike had different wheels on and had been overshifted, which it wasn't, a gearhanger should not break in this manner.
